Steps to import Access points on 8.3 WLC

Currently 8.3 controller doesn't send AP list to the cloud. Thus there is no intuitive way for user to add APs to a site. You need to add AP’s manually only using Radio MAC addresses.

Step1 : Confirm https connectivity of your cmx account from controller.

  (5508-12) >show cloud-services cmx summary

 CMX Service

   Server ....................................... https://xxxxx.cmxcisco.com

   IP Address.................................... 128.107.18.125

   Service Status ............................... Enabled

   Connectivity.................................. https: UP

Step 2: Create a site on your cmx account under presence>>manage>>sites>>Add sites

Step 3: Open controller in CLI mode and run below command

(5508-12) >show ap join stats summary all

Number of APs.............................................. 1

Base Mac AP            EthernetMac               APName                  IP Address       Status
58:97:bd:83:a9:a0   18:8b:9d:bc:62:4c      AP188b.9dbc.624c    172.19.9.96     Joined

Step 4: Create a .CSV file according to below format and save.

Base Mac        Ethernet         Ap name       site name       Address
AP base MAC    AP Ethernet               MAC AP name as in CLI Mention site name which you have created/ give any site name it will get automatically created      Mention Site                  address

Step 4: AP import

Go to presence>>Manage>>Import>>AP's>>Browse

1.Verify the newly created site and Access point.

2.Connect any device to SSID and monitor the presence dashboard for statistics.
